Job Title: Strategic Technical Program Leader
Location: San Jose, California
Key Responsibilities:
  • Governance:Establish and drive a governance framework that enhances executive decision-making, prioritization, and risk management across programs.
  • Establish a reliable and visible cadence for program reviews, decision-making, prioritization, and Resource Stewardship.
  • Ensure governance structure effectively exposes and mitigates dependencies.
  • Ensure proactive change management to accelerate program velocity and efficiency.
  • Roadmap & Program Scalability: Work with core engineering teams to develop and articulate long term strategy and short term plans. Develop roadmaps, engage teams and engineers and set the pace for development. Use technical judgment to drive project delivery and technology reviews/proposals and build consensus amongst cross-functional teams. Provide a quantitative analysis focus and translate findings into recommendations and actionable plans. Set project/program success criteria, create measurable milestones, track deliverables and deliver customer value. Design and launch new processes, process improvements, and help program teams scale
  • Technical Program Leadership: Lead and manage large-scale technical programs, including custom web application development, IBM Tririga integrations with corporate systems, API integrations, and AI/ML initiatives. Drive program execution with a focus on timeliness, scalability, and long-term sustainability, ensuring high-quality deliverables. Provide strong leadership to the technical team, fostering a positive work environment, resolving conflicts, and ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction & Reporting: Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and ensure their needs are met, keeping them engaged and satisfied with the program's progress. Prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and updates to communicate the status of the program, risks, and successes.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration: Work closely with diverse teams (engineering, design, product management, operations, etc.) to ensure alignment and successful program delivery. Lead and support the team, maintaining focus on project objectives and ensuring that all team members are collaborating effectively.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify and assess risks and challenges, developing effective mitigation plans to minimize impact. Ensure that risks are clearly communicated to stakeholders, with detailed solutions and timelines for mitigation. Maintain a strong focus on minimizing production issues and delays.
  • Mitigation Planning: Develop and manage mitigation plans for program risks and roadblocks, ensuring that teams are equipped to handle challenges and continue to meet objectives despite obstacles.
  • Web Application & API Development: Oversee the seamless integration and development of web applications and APIs, aligning these developments with the broader IWMS strategy.
  • AI/ML Development: Work with AI/ML engineers to implement machine learning models that enhance decision-making, system automation, and overall business processes.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use metrics and analytics to track project progress, identify areas for optimization, and make data-driven decisions that guide the program’s evolution.
  • Quality Assurance & Performance: Ensure that all program releases (web applications, AI/ML models, and APIs) meet the highest quality standards. Monitor and optimize performance to handle large volumes of data or users and ensure scalability.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in Technical Program Leadership or similar roles.
  • Expertise in managing custom web applications, AI/ML models, and APIs at scale.
  • Prior experience in consulting roles.
