Job description

Task Order Project Manager

We are seeking a Task Order Project Manager who will also function as a SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) to support a large, complex task order (or group of task orders).

This individual will support the Program Manager (PM) and collaborate closely with Contracting Officers (COs), task order managers, government stakeholders, and agency representatives to ensure successful delivery.

This role is part of an upcoming federal program and is expected to move forward pending final award.


Responsibilities
  • Support the Program Manager (PM) in execution of large, complex task orders
  • Manage day-to-day task order execution, ensuring technical solutions and schedules are delivered on time
  • Serve as a SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), aligning teams to Agile Release Train (ART) cadence
  • Facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning for large-scale teams (50+ personnel)
  • Coordinate value streams across cross-functional teams
  • Track and report metrics to senior leadership
  • Manage ART risks, impediments, and dependencies
  • Oversee enterprise platform integration, including tools like ServiceNow and Google Workspace
  • Ensure alignment with SAFe governance, PI schedules, and Agile best practices
  • Support artifact management (EAP, ServiceNow, etc.)
Requirements
  • Active IT-II clearance or current NACLC (required at time of proposal submission)
  • PMP or equivalent nationally recognized Project Management certification
  • Certified SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) or equivalent ICAgile certification
  • Additional relevant certification from a nationally recognized authority
  • 10+ years of relevant Project Management experience
  • 5+ years of PM experience with increasing responsibility in IT or consulting
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in IT or consulting environments
  • 5+ years experience with:
    • Business operations coordination
    • PI Planning for 50+ person Agile Release Trains
    • Value stream coordination across functional teams
    • Metrics-driven reporting to senior leadership
    • Enterprise platform integrations (ServiceNow, Google Workspace)
Education
    • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA)
      OR
    • 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
Preferred Skills
    • Strong understanding of SAFe and Agile frameworks applied to business processes
    • Experience operating in federal/government environments
    • Ability to manage large-scale, cross-functional programs
