Job description

Position Title: Event Operations Manager
Reports to: Director, Event Operations
Location: NYC/Remote
We are seeking an experienced Event Operations Manager to join the Event Operations team. The Event Operations Manager will be responsible for sourcing, contracting, planning and executing the assortment of live/digital event formats for the Communities division of CyberRisk Alliance. An ideal candidate would have experience in event management and coordination, customer service and financial tracking. Reporting to the Director, Event Operations, the individual will work with sales, operations, executive directors, content, and other various parts of the business to deliver the highest level of precision and planning for our live and digital event portfolio.
A successful candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills. A "can-do" attitude is a must.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of regional events (in-person) ensuring alignment with organizational goals and audience needs.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for each event; ensure milestones and deadlines are consistently met.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with venues, vendors, sponsors, and external partners to deliver high-quality event experiences.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, content, and leadership teams to define event objectives, messaging, and success metrics.
  • Own event budgets, track expenses, and optimize spend while maintaining quality and ROI.
  • Oversee on-site operations, including setup, registration, staffing, and troubleshooting to ensure seamless execution.
  • Design and deliver engaging, high-quality attendee experiences that drive satisfaction and brand value.
  • Measure event success using KPIs (attendance, engagement, pipeline, etc.) and provide post-event analysis and recommendations.
  • Continuously refine event processes, tools, and best practices to improve efficiency and scalability across regional programs.
  • Frequency of travel: up to 25% annually

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of previous event management and production experience
  • Experience in managing hotel BEOs, contracts, room blocks and audio-visual orders
  • Experience in venue contract negotiation a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high level of efficiency
  • Self-motivated, strategic thinker with a collaborative, solution-oriented approach
  • Experience in Swoogo and Salesforce is a plus
  • Exceptional organizational, project, and time management skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Knowledge of and interest in information security markets desired
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and executive presence
  • Able to lift up to 20 lbs
  • Ability to travel periodically throughout the year to support onsite events operations

Job Information (NYC)
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York City, CRA is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to New York City and takes into account numerous factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to a candidates' qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and location. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000 to $70,000, which does not include other compensation benefits package.
