Education Support Aide

The Education Support Aide will provide support to school staff as directed by the school principal.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to the administrative procedures of the assigned work location.
  • Offers quality customer service by greeting people, answering general questions, and providing guidance where appropriate.
  • Assumes classroom duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher.
  • Follows the teacher's written lesson plans and class routine and consults with the principal or designee to resolve questions and/or concerns.
  • Prepares a written summary of activities completed by students, including special situations or problems encountered.
  • Adheres to all safety procedures, rules, and policies to ensure the well-being of all students.
  • Maintains active supervision of students during all work and duty assignments.
  • Develops and maintains a positive learning environment that is supportive of all students.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information, respecting personal privacy.

Professionalism:

  • Promotes a positive image of the school district's program to the public.
  • Attend professional development activities where appropriate.
  • Reports regularly and punctually to assigned work location and notifies principal or designee of impending absence in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the teacher and/or principal.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least two years of experience in customer service and office work.
  • Computer proficient in MS Suite software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and various network operating systems.
