Job description

Transportation Support Aide - Sunland

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities is seeking a Transportation Support Aide (Residential Unit Specialist) to provide transportation and direct care services for individuals with developmental disabilities. This position is responsible for implementing approved treatment programs, ensuring residents' safety, and providing care during overnight stays in medical facilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate humility, hunger, and smart leadership qualities.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday; 6:00AM - 2:30PM CST.

Salary Range: $34,760.00- $38,235.86 Annually

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Preference for candidates with professional experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Ability to lift forty pounds
  • Knowledge of methods of instructing and providing care to others
  • Ability to understand and apply methods and practices used in medical, psychiatric, nursing, or childcare or in working with developmentally disabled persons
  • Ability to take and monitor vital signs
  • Ability to administer routine treatments under medical supervision
  • Ability to read
  • Ability to pay attention to details
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to carry out instructions for implementing prescribed treatment plans including behavior modification activities
  • Ability to instruct others in basic self-care skills
  • Ability to instruct others in recreational activities
  • Ability to provide instruction and personal guidance and care to clients
  • Ability to prepare charts and records
  • Ability to prepare instructional materials
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
