Whatโ€™s The Job?

Do you like an exciting, fast-paced environment? Do you want to be a part of new technology? GHSP, based in West Michigan, is a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems to the automotive, transportation, and appliance industry. GHSP is currently hiring a Supplier Development Engineer to join our Supplier Development team in our Holland, Michigan or Novi, Michigan locations.

What You'll Do:

  • Develops production suppliers to ensure they meet established expectations for quality, delivery, and service.
  • Provides technical and operational guidance to ensure supplier capability and promote design for manufacturability.
  • Manages supplier APQP and PPAP per AIAG and GHSP's Product Development Process.
  • Manages supplier progress through SOP +90 days and incorporates lessons learned into supplier development plans.
  • Executes ongoing audits of approved suppliers and performs potential new supplier assessments.
  • Assists plant quality as needed to resolve major or chronic supplier issues, verifying root cause analysis, and ensuring implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinates with plant quality to ensure lessons learned are incorporated into the APQP process for future products in development.
  • Evaluates supplier performance to communicate needs and encourage good performance.
  • Performs supplier risk mitigation activities to ensure a stable supply base.
  • Prioritizes assignments based on timing and risk associated.
  • Extensive domestic and international travel to GHSP and supplier sites, 50-75%

What Youโ€™ll Bring

Qualified candidates meet the following requirements.

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Equivalent - Electronics focus preferred.
  • ASQ, CQE, CQA Certificate or equivalent preferred.
  • 3 + years of experience in Lean Manufacturing, QS 9000, Automotive Experience with APQP, PFMEA, SPC, GD&T, Blueprints.
  • Commodity specific knowledge including industry standards and best practices.
