GHSP, a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems for the automotive, transportation, and appliance industries, is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to join our team in Holland, Michigan or Novi, Michigan.

In this role, you'll work closely with suppliers around the world to develop robust manufacturing processes, drive quality improvements, mitigate risk, and support the successful launch of innovative products. What You'll Do
  • Develop production suppliers to ensure they meet established expectations for quality, delivery, and service.
  • Provide technical and operational guidance to ensure supplier capability and promote design for manufacturability.
  • Manage supplier APQP and PPAP activities in accordance with AIAG standards and GHSP's Product Development Process.
  • Manage supplier progress through SOP +90 days and incorporate lessons learned into supplier development plans.
  • Execute ongoing audits of approved suppliers and perform potential new supplier assessments.
  • Assist plant quality teams in resolving major or chronic supplier issues, verifying root cause analysis, and ensuring implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with plant quality teams to ensure lessons learned are incorporated into future APQP activities.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and communicate opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform supplier risk mitigation activities to help ensure a stable and resilient supply base.
  • Prioritize assignments based on timing, business impact, and risk.
  • Travel extensively to supplier and GHSP locations throughout North America and internationally (approximately 50-75%).
What You'll Bring

Qualified candidates meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience; Electronics focus preferred.
  • ASQ CQE, CQA, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, supplier quality, supplier development, or related engineering roles.
  • Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, GD&T, blueprint reading, Lean Manufacturing, and QS-9000/IATF principles.
  • Commodity-specific knowledge and understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills.
