The Role

The Associate Business Development Manager for the Impulse Small Format division is responsible for driving business growth and cultivating strategic customer relationships across a diverse portfolio of regional and national convenience store chains in CA, including 7-Eleven, AMPM, Circle K, ExtraMile, Chevron, Rocket Stores, G&M Oil Company, and Anabi Oil (Rebel). The role also manages key partnerships with leading regional Hispanic grocery retailers.  The role will focus on market execution with specific strategic distributors.   

In addition, the Associate Business Development Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering sales programs that align with the company's strategic growth objectives across assigned accounts. This includes identifying and prioritizing new business opportunities, targeting prospective accounts, and securing introductory meetings with category managers to expand distribution, strengthen customer partnerships, and drive sales growth.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for attainment of revenue, expanding points of distribution, innovation presentations and trade spend targets on assigned accounts in order to achieve the Ferrero strategy and objectives within the convenience channel. 
  • Align with Team Leads to identify key targets by market. Develop potential customers within key segments and use industry data and market knowledge to prospect accounts and create pipeline of high value targets balancing short and long range. 
  • Cold call local and regional accounts. Build strategic relationships with key buying influencers within the convenience channel. 
  • Develop relationships with key distributor personnel and work with internal teams to call on and close business. Responsible for Sales call follow up, creating awareness and direction. 
  • Take point in the development, presentation and review of annual business plans for key customers. 
  • Effectively leverage customer, industry, and internal sales information, to understand the business, drive compliance and sustain a competitive advantage. 
  • Build internal relationships with revenue management, channel strategy, finance, shopper marketing and supply chain to prepare for retailer meetings and add value to retailer programming. 
  • Represents Wells at various trade shows, sales appointments and business meetings.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years Account Selling experience with a CPG company.
  • Working knowledge of the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG), convenience channel, DSD and broadline distributor networks.
  • Experience working with syndicated data, strong communication, presentation preparation, relationship building skills and Office 365 software modules.
  • Presentation skills and strong influential communication skills. 
  • Problem solving and analytical skills. 
  • High level of interpersonal skills to help foster and develop relationships that will continue to help grow the business base and create opportunities for future growth. 
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task within a broad scope of responsibility and a fast-paced environment. 

The base pay range for this position is $93,000 to 131,000 annually plus bonus and a company car.  Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  This pay range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
