Description

The Graduate College office is seeking to hire a student worker for the 2026/2027 academic year.  This role will assist Graduate College staff with the planning, scheduling, and coordination of large and small scale in-person and remote events, including Grad Student Orientation, Grad Career Week, World Kindness Week, Research and Innovation Week, and Graduate Student Appreciation Week.

Job Duties
  • Event preparation and logistics (e.g. making room reservations, ordering food/catering, assist in ordering swag through approved UC branding channels, assembling gift bags, etc.).
  • Work at major Graduate College events, as academic schedule allows Assist staff and student designer graduate assistant (GA) on promotion and marketing needs (e.g. UC postings, digital ads, social media).
  • Communicate with student groups and campus organizations.
  • Manage Grad Connect email account and monitor the UC Grad College Information email (e.g. answer questions, and refer students to the necessary resources).
  • Attend and take minutes for the Student Success Team meetings.
  • Complete required trainings relevant to the position.
  • Other special projects/work as assigned by Graduate College staff  
Appointment Details

Position is 10 hours/week for August 2026 through April 2027. Potential for summer 2027 term and hybrid hours throughout the year. Hourly rate: $12.50.

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or a secondary school.
  • Enrolled at least part-time (one or more credit hours if at a post-secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • “Enrollment” shall include:
    • The period between two successive terms for which the student is enrolled.
    • The one “off” term in each academic year in which the student is not enrolled. Student employee status may be retained for one additional term following either graduation or withdrawal from enrollment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Experience with UC’s reservation platform 25LIVE 
  • Social media and Canva experience 

  • Strong presentation skills

Physical Requirements
