TITLE: Student Life Office Assistant

DEPARTMENT: Student Life

SUPERVISOR: Shaquille Joseph, Administrative Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

Summer Office Assistant(s) serve as the first contact for visitors and callers to the Student Life Office and are responsible for being a resource of campus-wide information, and support the Student Life staff with general administrative and event support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as first contact for visitors and callers to the Student Life Office as a resource for campus-wide information, including front desk coverage and answering and distributing email inquiries and messages to related Student Life staff.
  • Assist with various projects for the Dean of Students; Associate Dean, Campus Life; Office of Student Engagement, and Residence Life including event support.
  • Assist the Student Life team with summer student life initiatives and programs.
  • Assist with general administrative and office management duties such as distributing mail, filing/copying, data entry, campus errands, maintaining an organized and clean space, and restocking supplies.
  • Other various duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent customer service - friendly, positive and helpful manner
  • Detail-oriented and accurate
  • Able to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely fashion
  • Computer proficiency, Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Canva
  • Able to create flyers for programs
  • Dependable and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Honesty, integrity, and sensitivity
  • Ability to lift 25lbs


HOURS: up to 20 hours a week

Monday-Friday 9:00am -4:30pm

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: A Student Life Office Assistant must present a good image of Babson and develop positive relationships with all visitors to the office including students, faculty, staff, families, and other members of the Babson community. Business Casual Attire. Please also keep in mind that this position is temporary and intended to support student life until the beginning of the Fall 2026 semester.
