Job description

Our client is a well-established manufacturer experiencing continued growth and is seeking a Strategic Buyer to join its Supply Chain team. This position is ideal for someone with a strong manufacturing background who understands precision-machined components, supplier management, and engineering drawings.


This is not a traditional MRO purchasing role. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with engineered products, collaborating with suppliers, and supporting manufacturing operations.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Source and procure precision-machined components and direct materials.
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery, and supplier performance.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Quality on new and existing products.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.


What We're Looking For:

  • Experience purchasing direct materials in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of precision machining, castings, forgings, stampings, or metal components.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier capabilities.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
