A strategic buyer acquires competitor companies or suppliers for their own business. The goal of this type of purchase is to grow a business through strategic acquisition. Job duties include market research, financial analysis, and purchasing decisions. Qualifications to have a career as a strategic buyer include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, finance, or a related field, experience in the financial market, and negotiation skills.
