Specification Representative - Manhattan
Job Description 
The Wilsonart Specification Representative-Manhattan is responsible for driving commercial growth by securing, managing, and converting specifications for all Wilsonart products. This role serves as a trusted advisor to the commercial design community, influencing material selection and ensuring Wilsonart solutions are seamlessly implemented from concept through completion. Success is measured by Wilsonart specification adoption, project conversion, and sustained market share growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with architects, designers, specification writers, and facility planners within the assigned territory-Manhattan.
  • Drive specification adoption and ensure conversion through close collaboration with sales, distribution, and fabrication partners.
  • Provide expert product, design, and application guidance tailored to project requirements.
  • Track project opportunities and specification-to-sale conversion using Wilsonart’s CRM system.
  • Execute hands-on merchandising, display placement, and updates to maintain brand consistency.
  • Represent Wilsonart at industry associations and professional events.
  • Deliver professional presentations and product training to design firms and influencers.
  • Provide feedback to internal customers regarding the surface needs of the design community.
  • Effectively use Wilsonart’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool. Documentation includes account data, sales call itineraries and activity, merchandise placement, and project opportunity tracking. 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the complete product line and its marketing performance.
  • Experience with marketing, sales, and specification principles.
  • Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards.
  • Ability to communicate well in oral and written formats with all levels of our organization and our customers.
  • Ability to sell products and concepts.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing/business administration or a closely related field. One additional year of experience may substitute for one year of required education with a maximum substitution of four years.
  • One year’s field selling experience, preferably in the commercial design community. 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Continuously stand/walk or lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight (20-50lbs)
