LOCATION: The Salvation Army - Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center - Phoenix, Arizona
STATUS: Non-Exempt, Part-time

Position Summary:
The Spanish Ministry Lead is responsible for all Spanish ministries at the Kroc Center to include programming, outreach, and administration assignments. This position will develop and implement a growing evangelism and discipleship ministry targeted specifically to Spanish people of the Phoenix South Mountain and surrounding areas within the framework of The Salvation Army's programs, policies, and practices.
Qualifications:
  • Uniformed Salvationist preferred.
  • A Secondary degree in Christian Ministry, Religious Education, Counseling, or a related field preferred, or a working knowledge of the Word and basic Wesleyan Theology understanding
  • Experience in evangelism, mentoring, and discipleship.
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances and under stressful conditions.
  • This position has access to confidential and private information. It is essential that confidentiality and privacy be observed and good judgment applied.
  • Proficient organizational skills and the ability to carry out multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with current Microsoft software computer programs including Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint, Email, Internet, and standard office equipment and systems.
  • Valid Arizona commercial driver's license and insured transportation. If not a commercial driver's license, then this must be obtained within two months of hire.
  • Certification by and participation in The Salvation Army's Fleet Safety Program on an annual basis.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and AED required. If not current, then certification must be obtained within two months of hire.
  • Ability to work in a distinctively Christian environment and conduct oneself in a professional manner, consistently with the highest Christian standards of leadership. Must be a person of high integrity and willing to support and promote the mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance and advocating for The Salvation Army Protecting The Mission and Child Safety Policies in all programs and facilities.
  • Required to pass a background check.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Women's Ministry secretary (volunteer) to develop a calendar for the Spanish Women's Ministry program.
  • Organize and teach the Spanish Sunday School programs.
  • Provide leadership over all areas of the Spanish ministry for Sunday programming, including retrieving all the stats needed. Inputting stats into CMS.
  • Provide leadership to mid-week Spanish Bible Study. Teaching organized lessons, that have been prepared ahead of time.
  • Visit Spanish ministry members as needed.
  • Attend Ministry team meetings, and actively participate in integrating Spanish ministry into Sunday programming.
  • Assist with the Christmas Red Kettle program and other seasonal activities as directed.
  • Assist the Corps Assistant & Mission Integration Coordinator in ensuring that the Salvation Army mission is reflected and served by the programs and activities of the Kroc Center, specific to the Spanish Community.
  • Receive and safeguard offerings, activity fees, and donations, and process according to established procedures. Maintain and safeguard the handling of petty cash as assigned.
  • Provide transportation for Corps activities/meetings as assigned.
  • Secure and maintain appropriate supplies and resources for all aspects of the Spanish Ministry.
  • Inventory and maintain all equipment in good order.
  • Ensure compliance with Salvation Army Protecting the Mission and Childe Safety policies with volunteers.
  • Will be required to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned as they relate to the position of Spanish Ministry Lead.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate a telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
