Job description

Position Overview

Apollo's Business Solutions Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate to support the Business Solutions group and the COO in driving change, designing/redesigning critical business control processes and ensuring that the capabilities of key non-investment support functions remain aligned with the business needs of the firm's rapidly growing and constantly changing domestic insurance advisory business. The Associate will work with team members across the firm's various business functions with a focus on project management, process improvement and driving change. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program/project management, and business control process design and implementation, coupled with excellent organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders (including senior management).

Primary Responsibilities

Drive multi-disciplinary teams to achieve organizational change by applying best practices and techniques in program/project management, business control process design and reengineering, and workshop facilitation. In addition, support the COO by managing cross-functional initiatives, various reporting needs, and supporting strategic alignment of Apollo's domestic insurance advisory business. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Drive initiatives that align with the strategic goals of the ISG while facilitating the adoption of new control processes, technologies, and organizational structures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support the COO office in managing initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to ensure successful outcomes
  • Develop and employ effective reports and other artifacts to facilitate initiatives, memorialize key decisions and provide an "audit trail" around organizational enhancements
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve business control processes and practices across ISG, engaging with key stakeholders to understand their needs and concerns and ensure their buy-in and support
  • Track the progress of initiatives, assess their impact, and make necessary adjustments to ensure success while also identifying potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from senior leaders; examples include preparing communications, root cause analysis reporting, and project timelines.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 3-5 years of experience at a consulting firm, insurance company, asset manager, or in a corporate strategy role
  • Experience with change management, business control process analysis and improvement, and transformation management
  • A passionate professional who will is high energy and has demonstrated enthusiasm for leading organizational enhancements
  • A critical thinker with strong quantitative and analytical skills who expresses their thoughts and ideas clearly through verbal and written communications
  • A collaborative thinker who can also work independently, multitask, and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and complex environment
  • A proactive and organized self-starter with a positive attitude, powerful work ethic, strong attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with other applicable technology tools (e.g., JIRA) is a plus.

Pay Range

$120,000 - $135,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance.Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location.
