Job description

ION Solar is a rapidly expanding, full-service residential solar company with a strong nationwide presence. Our dedicated team is committed to making solar energy accessible and affordable for homeowners across the country.

The Field Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of residential PV projects within a given regional site. The Operation Manager provides day-to-day supervision and coordination of the scheduling, inspections, installations, service work and all field activities related to the physical installation of the PV array by Ion Solar installation teams and any coordinated subcontractors.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Crews composed of 3-5 Installers each, service and inspection techs, and warehouse employees.
  • Formulate performance improvement plans and make termination decisions as necessary.
  • Interview, select, and train new employees.
  • Monitor day to day work of staff for process adherence and compliance
  • Engage in continuing education and training for the team
  • Manage the project schedule throughout the project lifecycle and secure any unique materials and/or equipment required to complete the project.
  • Provide direction and coordination of all field activities.
  • Ensure project quality is at or above standards.
  • Prepare work schedules to ensure sufficient coverage.
  • Contributes to the company culture in a positive way
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Ability to stay calm in stressful situations and meet strict quotas
  • Strong grasp on the companys products, services, and customer service policies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • 5-7 years of construction-related experience.
  • 1-3 years of solar experience.
  • Valid state drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal screen.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders.
  • Ability to move around the warehouse.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
