2nd Shift Hours: Monday – Thursday, 5:00pm – 3:30am

About the Company

Bila Solar is driving the next generation of American solar innovation, by transforming American solar production from our HQ in the heart of Indianapolis, Indiana — strengthening the domestic supply chain and creating advanced manufacturing jobs in clean energy. Led by highly-experienced industry veterans, we’re among the first-to-market to offer US-made solar cells in a 550w dual-glass module that can deliver exceptional durability and top-tier performance. But, we’re not stopping there. Our facility also produces an innovative, ultralight, 17-pound 520w module, designed for commercial rooftops and low-load-bearing structures, bringing solar to places traditional panels can’t reach.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead by example in upholding all company safety protocols and PPE requirements

  2. Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and implement appropriate solutions

  3. Develop new manufacturing processes, including machine layouts, workflow improvements, and material handling systems

  4. Investigate and resolve issues related to manufacturing processes, manufacturing equipment, operator training, and production inefficiencies

  5. Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, Material Handling Procedures, and Manufacturing Best Practices

  6. Participate in all Continuous Improvement and 5S activities

  7. Support all aspects of the Quality Management System, including ISO9001 certification and Internal Audit activities

  8. Support the Quality Team in investigations, root-cause analysis, and solution implementation for any customer reported issues or internal non-conformances which may arise

  9. Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends and address manufacturing issues

  10. Guide, train, and coach junior equipment technicians in proper machine maintenance and troubleshooting, as applicable

  11. Coordinate activities with other shift personnel, as needed

  12. Cooperate and work with cross-functional departments as needed

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field

Experience: 3+ years of experience in an automated high-speed manufacturing environment

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  1. Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  2. Excellent communication and teamworking skills
  3. Strong sense of responsibility and Initiative
  4. Excellent creative problem-solving abilities
  5. Ability to mentor / train junior members of the staff
  6. Some proficiency of CAD software would be desirable
