Apple's Vision Products Group is looking for a technically grounded, people-first Software Quality Manager to help define the future of spatial audio on Apple Vision Pro - leading a team responsible for ensuring that every sound, every cue, and every immersive moment meets the bar Apple customers expect and deserve.
Description
The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineering manager comfortable leading a high-performing team in a dynamic and rapidly evolving space. In this role, you will manage a team of manual and automation engineers responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing audio quality test plans for some of Apple's most advanced technologies - including augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). You thrive in cross-functional environments, partnering closely with software engineers, architects, project managers, and QA teams across Apple to define what quality audio looks and sounds like on the platform.
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of management experience leading QA/QE teams
8+ years of professional experience in Software Quality
Expertise in subjective and objective methodologies for measuring the quality of a consumer audio experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience leading and developing a team in a highly cross-functional environment
Established track record of building strong teams - attracting, hiring, motivating, and retaining top engineering talent
Ability to drive cross-functional communications, managing dependencies while maintaining tight timelines
Deep understanding of SQA methodologies and processes
Experience leading both manual and automated QA efforts
In-depth knowledge and experience with consumer audio devices and experiences
Understanding of audio processing fundamentals and how they apply to the customer experience
Experience with AR/VR or spatial computing platforms
BS in Computer Science/Engineering and/or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding and application of Python, Swift, and/or C/C++ programming skills
Familiarity with macOS and/or iOS platforms, automation frameworks, and tools development (preferably in Python)
Experience with AI-powered development and testing tools to accelerate quality workflows and test coverage
Data management skills including reporting, dashboards, and quality metrics visualization
Experience with wireless audio accessories such as AirPods and related Apple audio ecosystems
Familiarity with AR/VR or spatial computing platforms and their unique quality challenges
Passionate about user-focused design, high-quality applications, and iterative refinement
Persistent and inquisitive problem solver, committed to driving quality forward
