Job description

We are seeking a seasoned Software Implementation Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of OpenGov software solutions. In this contract role, you will lead the integration of enterprise software modules, ensure alignment across internal departments and vendor partners, and keep implementation milestones on schedule and within scope.

This position acts as the primary bridge between cross-functional teams and software representatives, driving process mapping, system testing, user training, and organizational change management.

(Note: PMP certification is NOT required for this role.)

Location & Work Arrangement

  • City, State: Richmond, VA
  • Work Arrangement: Onsite (Local candidates strongly preferred; hybrid flexibility may be evaluated in the future).
  • Interview Mode: Both Web Cam and In-Person
  • Shift: EST

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Vendor Coordination

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, timeline dependencies, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the central point of contact between internal leaders, department heads, and software implementation specialists.
  • Facilitate project kickoff meetings, status updates, progress reviews, and executive reporting.

Implementation Oversight & Testing:

  • Oversee data preparation, system configuration, testing, and workflow validation for software modules.
  • Prepare workflow designs and process maps to align operational activities with new system capabilities.
  • Track deliverables across cross-functional teams to ensure deadline compliance.

Training & Change Management

  • Coordinate end-user training and change management initiatives to maximize system adoption.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly language for business stakeholders.
  • Produce project documentation including change logs, meeting notes, and post-implementation evaluation reports.
