The role, at a glance:
Biamp is seeking a proactive Software Engineering Manager to lead a team building
cloud services, mobile apps, and desktop applications that power our global AV
ecosystem. Reporting to the Director of Software, this role focuses on guiding,
mentoring, and developing engineers to deliver technical excellence and accelerate
shipping. The ideal candidate champions modern, AI-assisted development practices-
including agentic coding tools such as Claude Code-and supports engineers in solving
complex problems across distributed systems, mobile platforms, and desktop clients.

How you'll contribute:

  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Mentor and develop cloud, mobile, and desktop engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement

    • Build team capability in modern application stacks and AI-assisted/agentic development workflows (e.g., Claude Code) so the team ships high-quality software faster

    • Empower engineers to identify pragmatic technical solutions that balance velocity, reliability, and user experience

  • Technical Support and Guidance:

    • Partner with global engineering, product, and design teams to align local efforts with platform roadmaps across cloud, mobile, and desktop

    • Serve as a technical sounding board on architecture and trade-offs spanning distributed cloud systems, iOS/Android, and Windows/macOS clients

  • Performance Management:

    • Conduct regular performance assessments, providing constructive feedback and setting clear expectations and goals for team members

    • Facilitate career development discussions and create individualized plans to advance team member growth and proficiency

  • Process Alignment and Improvement:

    • Ensure adherence to Biamp's software development lifecycle-CI/CD, code review, security, and quality standards-across cloud, mobile, and desktop codebases

    • Identify opportunities to streamline delivery through tooling, automation, and agentic AI assistants that boost developer productivity

  • Collaboration and Communication:

    • Foster strong relationships with peer managers and global product, design, and engineering partners to enable effective collaboration and knowledge sharing

    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on team contributions and highlighting areas of success and improvement

  • Additional Responsibilities:

    • Participate in strategic initiatives as required by management

    • Perform other duties as assigned by your Manager

A successful candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 2 years leading software engineering teams that build cloud services, mobile apps, and/or desktop applications

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of mentoring and developing engineering talent

  • Hands-on familiarity with modern cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), mobile (iOS/Android), and/or desktop (Windows/macOS) application development

  • Experience adopting AI-assisted and agentic development tools (e.g., Claude Code) with a clear point of view on integrating them responsibly into team workflows

  • Ability to work collaboratively across global teams and navigate cross-cultural communication effectively
