Job Summary:
Kimball Midwest is a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, and they are seeking a Software Engineering Manager for their Columbus, Ohio location. The role involves leading a team of software engineers, setting goals aligned with organizational objectives, and overseeing the software development lifecycle to ensure high-quality delivery of projects.
Responsibilities:
• Accountable for leading and managing a team of software engineers across multiple delivery teams, providing mentorship to enhance skills and career development, and conducting regular performance evaluations.
• Sets clear goals and objectives for the software engineering team, aligned with the product roadmap and organizational objectives.
• Collaborates with cross functional teams, product managers, and stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.
• Oversees the software development lifecycle, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of software projects.
• Stays updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices, incorporating them into the team's workflow when applicable.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years of experience leading software application delivery teams is required
• Experience with modern software design principles (e.g., microservices, API-first architecture, cloud-native development, CI/CD, and secure coding practices).
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming concepts and languages (C# preferred).
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or similar RDBMS.
• Experience in DevOps practices, including continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), infrastructure as code (IaC), automated testing, and monitoring
Preferred:
• Experience building and maintaining web and mobile applications using the Microsoft stack, including C#/.NET Core and Azure, is preferred.
• Experience with emerging software delivery trends (e.g. low-code/no-code platforms, AI-native development) is preferred.
