Position Overview

Vega Federal is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer with 4+ years of professional experience to join our backend engineering team in Richardson, TX. This role focuses on backend software development, complex system integrations, and enterprise API management using Broadcom Layer 7 API Gateways. You will work within an Agile, multi-disciplinary environment to build, secure, and maintain high-performance Java architectures, network security protocols, and API solutions supporting critical federal operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • - Develop, integrate, and maintain backend services and systems utilizing Java and robust network programming techniques.
  • - Directly configure, policy-author, integrate, and troubleshoot Broadcom Layer 7 API Gateway solutions across enterprise interfaces.
  • - Write operational Linux automation, utility, and deployment scripts to streamline software integration tasks.
  • - Manage API authentication mechanisms, digital security certificates, SSL/TLS, and secure routing protocols across multi-tier networks.
  • - Collaborate within Agile engineering teams to deliver resilient, production-ready software components on schedule.
Required Qualifications
  • - Experience: 4+ years of professional software engineering experience centered on Java development, network programming, and Linux environments.
  • - Layer 7 Expertise: Direct, hands-on experience configuring, integrating, and maintaining Broadcom Layer 7 API Gateways.
  • - Security Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance required prior to start date (U.S. Citizenship required).
