The Opportunity


PICTON Investments is currently hiring a Software Development Engineer to join the Technology team in a role dedicated to our digital platforms. You'll work across our website and supporting systems, partnering closely with Engineering leadership and the Website & Digital Marketing team to ship features, components, and improvements that strengthen the experience for advisors, institutional clients, and investors.


This is a hands-on engineering role with broad scope. You'll own day-to-day development against a modern Next.js codebase and a headless CMS, contribute to platform decisions, and collaborate with marketing, design, and analytics partners on a continuous roadmap of work. Strong HTML and CSS skills are a hard requirement for this role.


The expectedannualbase salary for this role is 100,000-130,000 with the final number depending on your experience, skills,and education.On top of that, you'll be eligible for our discretionary bonus program.

You'll Have the Opportunity to Learn and Lead


Web platform development

  • Build and maintain features, components, and pages on our Next.js codebase
  • Develop new CMS content models and matching front-end components in lockstep
  • Implement responsive, accessible, performance-conscious UI from design specs
  • Support the bilingual (English/French) site infrastructure and translation workflow
  • Contribute to code quality through reviews, testing, and documentation


CMS and content infrastructure

  • Partner with the Website & Digital team to translate marketing requirements into Contentful content types, references, and validations
  • Improve the authoring experience for non-technical content editors
  • Maintain and extend internal tooling that supports content creation and publishing workflows


Performance, SEO, and analytics enablement

  • Implement structured data (Schema.org), metadata, and technical SEO requirements
  • Ensure analytics, UTM, and event tracking are correctly wired across the site and into GA4
  • Treat Core Web Vitals and page performance as a continuous discipline


Platform, deployment, and collaboration

  • Manage deployments and environments on Azure / Azure Front Door
  • Work with Engineering leadership on platform decisions, security, and integration with internal systems
  • Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, and onboarding


What We're Looking For


Required

  • 7+ years of professional full-stack web development experience
  • Strong React and Next.js - able to build production features end-to-end
  • Accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) as a working standard
  • Expert level HTML and CSS skills
  • Hands-on experience with a headless CMS (Contentful strongly preferred; Sanity, Strapi, or similar acceptable)
  • TypeScript and modern JavaScript fluency
  • Solid Node.js, REST and GraphQL APIs
  • Git-based workflows, code review discipline, CI/CD familiarity
  • Cloud platform experience - Azure preferred, AWS or GCP transferable
  • Strong written and verbal communication - comfortable working with engineers, designers, marketers, and executives


Bonus

  • Experience in financial services, asset management, or another compliance-sensitive industry
  • Bilingual or experience working with bilingual content and integrations
  • Working knowledge of GA4, Google Tag Manager, and analytics implementation
  • Familiarity with technical SEO (structured data, canonicalization, hreflang, Core Web Vitals)
