Job description

Licensing & Intellectual Property Business Development Manager

Remote | Global | Brand Licensing, Intellectual Property, Business Development & Commercial Partnerships

About Acumen Agency

Acumen Agency is a global full-spectrum professional services company operating across consulting, marketing, financial, design, business, brokerage, outsourcing, executive search, printing, IT, AI, and other professional services.

We are developing opportunities to license the Acumen Agency name, brand, intellectual property, systems, services, and related assets to qualified companies, operators, partners, and organizations in different markets.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Licensing & Intellectual Property Business Development Manager to develop and lead Acumen Agency's licensing program.

The successful candidate will identify companies and entrepreneurs that could operate licensed aspects of the Acumen brand, develop licensing opportunities, negotiate commercial agreements, and help create a scalable international licensing model.

This is a highly commercial role. We are looking for someone who understands how to sell intellectual property, brands, licensing rights, commercial partnerships, and business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Acumen Agency's global brand and intellectual-property licensing program.
  • Identify companies, entrepreneurs, operators, agencies, and organizations that could benefit from licensing the Acumen brand.
  • Develop and sell licensing opportunities across different markets and service categories.
  • Create licensing packages, pricing structures, commercial models, and proposals.
  • Negotiate licensing agreements, royalty structures, fees, territories, terms, and performance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to license the Acumen name, trademarks, brand assets, systems, content, educational materials, services, technology, and other intellectual property.
  • Develop relationships with potential licensees, strategic partners, distributors, operators, and commercial organizations.
  • Build a pipeline of qualified licensing prospects internationally.
  • Coordinate with legal professionals regarding licensing agreements, trademark protection, intellectual-property rights, and compliance.
  • Monitor the use of Acumen trademarks, brand assets, and licensed intellectual property.
  • Help establish brand standards and licensing requirements to protect the Acumen brand.
  • Develop systems for onboarding, supporting, and monitoring licensees.
  • Identify opportunities for royalties, licensing fees, recurring revenue, and other monetization models.
  • Track licensing agreements, renewals, royalties, revenue, prospects, and overall program performance.
  • Continuously identify new ways to commercialize and monetize Acumen's intellectual property.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in brand licensing, intellectual-property commercialization, business development, franchising, partnerships, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell commercial rights, licensing arrangements, IP, brands, or other intangible assets.
  • Strong business-development and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of trademarks, licensing structures, royalties, and intellectual-property protection.
  • Experience developing commercial partnerships and long-term agreements.
  • Strong network of businesses, entrepreneurs, brands, agencies, or organizations is highly valuable.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to create opportunities rather than simply manage existing accounts.
  • Ability to work independently and develop an international licensing program.
  • Previous success monetizing intellectual property, brands, licensing rights, or similar commercial assets is strongly preferred.

Compensation & Career Opportunity

This is a performance-based opportunity, with compensation tied to measurable results including licensing agreements, licensees acquired, licensing fees, royalties, partnerships, and revenue generated.

Successful candidates may transition into a full-time salaried position and potentially become the senior leader responsible for Acumen Agency's global licensing and intellectual-property commercialization division.

This is an opportunity to build a new international revenue stream around the Acumen brand and intellectual property.
