As a Business Banker, you'll have the opportunity to make a direct impact by helping business owners grow and succeed while driving meaningful growth for the bank. This is a high-visibility role where you'll build strong client relationships, deepen existing partnerships, and expand your network within the community. If you're motivated by winning new business, delivering value, and being part of a growing, relationship-driven organization-this is an opportunity to invest in your career and be part of something building momentum.

Job Description

The Business Banker is responsible for driving business development and revenue growth through a combination of portfolio management and new client acquisition. In this role, you will develop and execute strategies to grow business deposits, loans, and referral revenue while serving as a trusted advisor to business clients. You will leverage your credit acumen, consultative sales approach, and understanding of business banking solutions to identify opportunities, structure deals, and deliver tailored financial solutions.

This position requires a strong balance of relationship management and proactive prospecting, with an emphasis on building and leveraging both internal and external centers of influence (COIs). You will collaborate closely with internal partners across commercial banking, treasury, private wealth, mortgage and retail teams to deliver comprehensive solutions while maintaining a disciplined approach to risk, credit quality, and operational execution. Success in this role is defined by consistent performance, strong pipeline development, and the ability to deepen client relationships over time.

Team Culture

The Business Banking team operates with a highly collaborative, team-first mindset where success is shared and wins are celebrated. While each banker is an individual producer, the environment is built on partnership-team members actively support one another, share ideas, and work together to deliver the best outcomes for clients. Leadership is highly engaged, providing a balance of autonomy and accountability, with a focus on coaching, development, and long-term success.

This is a growth-oriented team within a business line that is continuing to expand, offering the opportunity to make a visible impact and help shape the future of the group. The culture values competitiveness, adaptability, and a strong desire to win-while maintaining a supportive environment where collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous improvement are key. Team members are deeply connected to their communities and take pride in building lasting relationships both inside and outside the bank.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • Build and execute business development strategies to grow deposits, loans, and referral revenue through proactive outreach and pipeline management
  • Manage and deepen an assigned portfolio of business clients, identifying opportunities to expand relationships and wallet share
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of internal and external COIs to drive new business opportunities
  • Conduct consultative financial conversations to assess client needs and deliver tailored solutions, including cash flow and lending strategies
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders (Commercial, Treasury, Retail, Private Wealth, Mortgage and Credit) to deliver comprehensive client solutions
  • Structure and evaluate credit opportunities, leveraging strong credit acumen to support sound decision-making
  • Maintain consistent prospecting routines, including outbound calling, client meetings, and community engagement
  • Represent the bank in the local market through networking, community involvement, and industry events
  • Drive performance against established production goals while maintaining a strong focus on client experience and long-term relationship growth
Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business or relation field of study and 5-7 years of directly related experience in Small Business Banking Sales or outside consultative business to business sales experience, or 10-12 years of work related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Financial Services experience business banking sales preferred.
