REACH is hiring a part-time school cook to prepare and serve daily lunches for students at our small charter school in Grants Pass.

This is a hands-on cooking role with predictable hours, no nights or weekends, and a calm school environment.

Job Overview

REACH is seeking a part-time school cook to plan, prepare, and serve simple, nutritious lunches for students. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking for kids and wants predictable daytime hours in a school setting.

Meals are prepared at our Grants Pass campus and served onsite daily, with some meals packaged for weekly delivery to our Rogue River site.

This is a non-USDA, in-house lunch program serving a small number of students.

REACH is also open to contract proposals (RFPs) from qualified individuals or small food service providers interested in providing school lunch services.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook daily lunches for students
  • Follow rotating, kid-friendly menus
  • Portion and package meals for service and delivery
  • Serve lunch between approximately 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
  • Maintain clean and organized kitchen and food service areas
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation requirements
  • Track food supplies and communicate ordering needs
  • Accommodate common food allergies and dietary needs
  • Work cooperatively with school staff during meal service

Schedule

  • Approximately 20 hours per week
  • School days only
  • Morning food preparation and midday service
  • No nights or weekends

Qualifications

  • Valid Oregon Food Handler’s Card (required)
  • Experience as a cook, kitchen worker, or food service employee preferred
  • Experience cooking for groups, schools, childcare, or community programs is a plus

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to transport food short distances
