This hybrid role is based out of our headquarters in Saint Paul, MN and is currently required to work from the Saint Paul, MN facility once a month.


Primary Objective of Position

The Planning role at Computype supports the successful introduction of new parts and products, along with ongoing process improvements, by developing accurate manufacturing methods (bills of materials and bills of operations) that reflect efficient, repeatable production processes and costing. The team collaborates with Engineering, Customer Service, and other cross-functional teams to gather and validate project requirements, ensure manufacturing readiness, and maintain accurate system data that supports operational excellence and continuous improvement.


Major Areas of Accountability

  • Part Creation: Utilize request inputs (request for quote, customer requirements and/or specifications, manufacturing process specifications, department procedures) to accurately plan a part for manufacturing and create required manufacturing drawings.
  • Part Maintenance: Manage and execute requests to update documentation and processes related to purchased and manufactured parts/products. Ensure changes are accurately reviewed, documented, and implemented in alignment with established procedures.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve manufacturing issues that prevent scheduled production operations from being completed, ensuring timely correction and continuity of workflow.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to develop and maintain quick reference guides documenting known process capabilities to support consistent manufacturing execution.
  • Provide timely feedback to Estimating when manufacturing methods are adjusted during new part creation to ensure alignment with manufacturing standards and accurate cost impact assessment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of departmental and organizational objectives.
Requirements:

Required

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with business management software, operating systems and software applications, including Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience with formal problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement principles.

Preferred

  • Two to four years of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Epicor (ERP), Adobe Acrobat Professional and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of barcode symbologies, standards, creation, application, and verification processes.

Compensation & Benefits
