JOB SUMMARY
Operations Supervisor II - Outbound
Job Summary
The Operations Supervisor II - Outbound is responsible for supervising and coordinating outbound warehouse operations to ensure the safe, accurate, and timely distribution of products to customers. This role oversees daily operational activities, leads associates and team leads, ensures compliance with company policies and safety standards, and drives productivity, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Operations Supervisor II is accountable for achieving operational goals while maintaining exceptional service levels and fostering employee engagement and development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operational Leadership
    • Supervise and lead outbound warehouse operations in alignment with corporate strategies, policies, and operational objectives.
    • Manage daily shipping, order fulfillment, staging, loading, and distribution activities to ensure customer requirements and service level agreements are met.
    • Monitor workflow, labor allocation, and productivity metrics to optimize operational efficiency and throughput.
    • Ensure timely and accurate shipment of products while maintaining inventory integrity and quality standards.
    • Identify operational challenges and implement corrective actions to improve performance and customer satisfaction.

    Team Leadership & Development
    • Supervise, coach, and motivate associates and team leads to achieve operational and performance goals.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing feedback, and support employee development plans.
    • Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
    • Assist with staffing, scheduling, training, and workforce planning to support business needs across multiple shifts.

    Safety & Compliance
    • Promote and maintain a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and warehouse safety procedures.
    • Conduct safety observations, investigations, and corrective actions as needed.
    • Monitor adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality requirements.
    • Support audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives.

    Process Improvement
    • Analyze operational performance metrics and develop action plans to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and enhance operational performance.

    Resource Management
    • Supervise the efficient use of labor, equipment, and facility resources to meet operational demands.
    • Support purchasing and maintenance activities to ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials and operational equipment.
    • Monitor operating expenses and support cost-control efforts.

    Additional Responsibilities
    • Provide support for client operations and identify opportunities to improve service and reduce costs.
    • Prepare operational reports and communicate performance results to leadership.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Required
    • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
    • Currently works in an operation with multiple variables and multi-shift or process area responsibility, with substantial responsibility and limited direct supervision; or
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations with demonstrated success in delivering results.
    • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
    • Basic mathematical and analytical skills.
    • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents, reports, and operational procedures.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

    Preferred
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
    • Warehouse and distribution center experience.
    • Logistics and transportation experience.
    • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
    • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
    • Prior supervisory or leadership experience in outbound operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Requires work from heights of up to 20 feet from floor.
  • Requires work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.
  • Requires frequent walking, carrying, reaching, standing, and stooping.
  • Requires lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling of various items of varying weight.
