Job Description
Title: Food Service Helper
Qualifications:                  


  1. Effective communication and problem solving skills.
  2. Ability to problem solve in a fast paced work environment
  3. Ability to work collaboratively in an educational setting.
  4. Ability to multi task and meet realistic deadlines.
  5. Regular and predictable attendance
  6. Qualified to be employed as a Food Service Helper per Civil Service and NYS Education Department guidelines.
  7. Working knowledge of food service and related activities
  8. Ability to perform simple arithmetic computations
  9. Ability to sit, stand, bend and kneel for extended periods of time.
  10. Ability to lift and maneuver general kitchen equipment, materials and other objects as needed. 


Responsibilities Shall include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Attend meetings as needed
  2. Follow directives (written, oral, electronic)
  3. General Food Service Supervisor assignments
  4. Receives and stores food, supplies and chemicals
  5. Works on tray lines, placing food and beverage on trays according to menu and diet requirements
  6. Portions and serves food
  7. Performs cashier duties, receives cash for sales, and keeps accounting records
  8. Washes dishes, pots, and pans by hand or by machine
  9. Sweeps, mops, and maintains cleanliness in kitchen area
  10. Other assigned duties and/or responsibilities which may be deemed appropriate by the supervisors.
  11. Maintain Data Security as applicable.
  12. Maintain confidentiality with staff, students, and family information.
  13. Operate in a respectful, responsible manner

 
Reports to: Director of Food Services
Salary: Minimum starting salary $16.34 (negotiable based on experience) as per the Civil Service Employees Association agreement. Contracts can be found on the Victor Central School District website under the Human Resources tab.
