Field Service Technician Helper Jobs (NOW HIRING)

The Service Technician Helper supports cleanup and general labor activities at a former shop location, including moving, organizing, and disposing of materials and equipment. This short-term assignment focuses on safely clearing out an old facility and assisting with related service technician tasks as needed.

• Clean and clear out the old shop location, ensuring all designated items are moved, organized, or properly disposed of.
• Move, load, and unload materials, equipment, and items from the mobile mini site in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform general labor duties such as lifting, carrying, sorting, and cleaning work areas.
• Use basic hand tools and power tools to assist with minor framing, cutting, carpentry, finish trim, drywall, panel work, painting, and other shop-related tasks as directed.
• Support service technicians with basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and shop helper tasks within the scope of training and safety guidelines.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced setting to help complete the project within the planned three-day timeline.
• Commit to the full duration of the project and maintain reliable attendance for all scheduled days.
• Drive a company vehicle to and from work sites, including trips of up to approximately three hours to job locations, while adhering to all driving and safety policies.

• Previous general labor experience in a physical, hands-on work environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of safety practices and the ability to work in a safe, responsible manner.
• Proficiency in using basic hand tools for tasks such as measuring, cutting, and fastening.
• Experience with labor-intensive tasks involving moving, lifting, and cleaning materials or equipment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing tasks throughout the day.
• Strong commitment to project completion, including the ability to work the full three-day assignment.
• Reliability and willingness to perform outdoor and shop-based duties as needed.

• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing.
• Practical plumbing skills, including basic installation or repair tasks.
• Carpentry experience, including framing, finish trim, and general woodwork.
• Drywall and panel installation or repair experience.
• Painting skills for interior or exterior surfaces.
• Experience as a shop helper, service technician, or in HVAC and plumbing support roles.
• Comfort using power tools under appropriate safety guidelines.
• Pay rate may reflect and reward relevant experience and technical skills.

The role is primarily based in an outdoor setting, supporting the building and servicing of trailers and modules, as well as cleaning and clearing a former shop site. While work may occur outdoors, tasks are structured so that productivity is less affected by weather conditions than typical construction work. The schedule runs from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including two breaks and a lunch period. The position involves driving a company vehicle to and from job sites, with travel times of up to approximately three hours. The environment is hands-on, physical, and fast-paced, with regular use of basic hand tools and power tools, and a focus on maintaining safe working conditions at all times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of san antonio, TX.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
