Position Summary
This is an entry-level position within the Hangcha Customer Care Team designed to provide an opportunity and develop aspiring Field Service Technicians. Here at Hangcha, we will provide you with hands-on training, coaching, mentorship, and real-world scenarios/experiences in supporting the diagnostics, maintenance, and service repairs of Hangcha forklifts as well as any of our other material handling equipment.
Whilst working onsite at one of our national dealer accounts, you may be supporting an experienced Field Service Technician while at the same time gaining hands-on exposure to lithium-ion battery technology, hydraulics, electricals, mechanicals, as well as all general forklift operations. This role will be ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined with foundational knowledge and is very eager to build a career in material handling equipment service.
Under the guidance of our management teams and experienced technicians, you will progressively assume greater responsibilities as skills and certifications are achieved and become a key contributor to the team out there on the field. We will offer you a developmental path into a full-fledged Field Service Technician role.
This role works directly with our client daily and may include occasional after-hours phone support as your training progresses.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting senior Field Service Technicians with diagnostics, inspections, and repairs of Hangcha forklifts
  • Learning to troubleshoot battery-powered, lithium-ion, gas, LP, and diesel-powered forklifts
  • Perform routine maintenance, safety inspections, and any preventive maintenance tasks
  • Learn to read and interpret schematics and diagrams
  • Assist with documentation of services, repair findings, and parts use
  • Help support quality team’s investigations by gathering data and reporting observations
  • Communicate in a professional manner with customers, technicians, as well as other internal departments
  • Follow and adhere to all OSHA and company safety policies and participate in safety trainings
  • Progressively take on individual and independent tasks as skills and competencies are developed
  • Perform other related duties that may be necessary by management team
Qualifications
  • Associates degree, vocational/technical school, skilled-trade, or hands-on mechanical experiences are preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude along with interests in electrical systems, hydraulics, drivelines, and lithium-ion technology
  • Prior exposure to forklifts, material handling, industrial equipment, automotive is a plus
  • Willingness to learn electrical diagnostics, forklift control systems, battery systems, hydraulics
  • Ability to use power/hand tools, and diagnostics equipment
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to obtain a forklift certification upon hire
  • Bring a strong work ethic, coachable, eagerness to learn, reliability, adaptability
  • Bilingual fluency (verbal amp; written) in Mandarin and English is a plus
