Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a strategic and highly creative Senior Visual Merchandising (VMD) Specialist to lead and elevate our visual merchandising and in-store graphic execution across upcoming U.S. retail stores.

You will drive U.S. visual strategy, ensures brand integrity, and translates global brand guidelines into localized, high-impact retail experiences. The role partners closely with HQ (Korea), cross-functional U.S. teams, and external vendors to build scalable visual standards that enhance customer engagement and commercial performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead U.S. visual merchandising strategy in alignment with global brand direction

  • Translate global VMD guidelines into regionally relevant, scalable execution frameworks

  • Develop annual and seasonal visual roadmaps for U.S. retail expansion

  • Establish and refine U.S. visual standards, playbooks, and store opening toolkits

  • Oversee execution of seasonal, promotional, and curated visual zoning plans

  • Direct flagship and concept store visual planning and spatial storytelling

  • Ensure cohesive integration of spatial design and graphic communication

  • Conduct store visits and audits to maintain high visual standards and consistency

  • Identify opportunities to optimize visual displays for sales performance (KPI-driven)

  • Lead localization of store graphics (POP, signage, campaign visuals) while maintaining global BI

  • Create and oversee visual assets for U.S.-specific campaigns and product launches

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Retail teams to ensure visual consistency across touchpoints

  • Serve as primary U.S. visual liaison to HQ (Korea) for approvals and alignment

  • Present visual concepts, strategy decks, and execution plans to leadership

  • Partner with Retail Operations, Marketing, and Store Development teams

  • Manage vendor relationships for production, printing, fabrication, and installation

  • Oversee budgets, timelines, and quality control for all VMD-related initiatives

  • Support new store openings and remodel projects from visual concept to installation

  • Develop and implement visual merchandising training programs for store teams

  • Create visual communication guides and toolkits

  • Mentor junior VMD or design team members (if applicable)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field

  • 6–8+ years of experience in visual merchandising and/or retail graphic design

  • Proven experience leading visual strategy for multi-store retail environments

  • Strong understanding of retail layouts, consumer behavior, and commercial merchandising

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

  • Strong presentation skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders

  • Experience managing budgets and vendors

  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle retail environments

  • Experience in flagship or concept store planning and design

  • Bilingual in English and Korean

  • Experience with 3D tools such as SketchUp or other spatial design software

  • Willingness to travel domestically/internationally as needed
