Job Description
Visa Ventures is the equity-investing arm of Visa, focused on partnering with visionary entrepreneurs at the intersection of payments, money movement, and technology. We build connections between our portfolio companies and Visa's global network to drive mutual growth. We are high-conviction investors who invest in strategic companies to support Visa's commercial and strategic goals.
The Senior Manager will be a key member of the investment team, responsible for end-to-end execution of strategic equity investments. The work includes deep sector research, proactive sourcing, sophisticated deal negotiation, and active portfolio management. You will serve as a primary point of contact for founders and co-investors, while ensuring every investment aligns with Visa's long-term strategic roadmap.
Responsibilities include:
  • Deal Leadership: Lead all phases of the investment lifecycle, from initial thesis development and research, through rigorous due diligence, to deal structuring, legal documentation review, and closing.
  • Thematic Sourcing & Thesis Development: Develop high-conviction investment theses in emerging sectors-such as agentic commerce, cross border payments, or B2B payments. Build landscapes and frameworks to proactively identify and engage category-leading companies, moving beyond top of the funnel scouting to targeted, thesis-driven deal flow.
  • Portfolio Value creation and Management: Actively manage a subset of the existing portfolio by driving post-investment value creation, acting as a bridge between portfolio companies and Visa's commercial teams
  • Ecosystem Ownership: Cultivate strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including VC firms and intermediaries to ensure differentiated top of the funnel sourcing ideas and access to competitive investment rounds. Be an ambassador for Visa Ventures at external conferences and networking events
  • Investment Advocacy: Synthesize complex data into compelling investment memos and presentations. Present to senior Visa executives and articulate clear, data-supported rationales on why Visa should or should not invest
  • Franchise & Talent Development: Play a leadership role in internal firm-building; mentor junior team professionals and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's investment processes and frameworks.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• Experience: 6-10 years of total professional experience, including
• 4+ years of direct experience in Venture Capital, Corporate Venture Capital, or Growth Equity. Must have a track record of participating in or leading the full deal lifecycle.
• Operating Acumen: Direct experience with high-growth startup environment (as operator and/or hands-on advisor). Candidates should demonstrate a deep understanding of the internal mechanics of growth, from product-market fit to organizational scaling
• Deal Acumen: Demonstrated ability to lead complex due diligence workstreams across financial, technical, and legal domains. Clear communicator with outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of investment materials
• Proven experience in negotiating deal documents.
• Technical Literacy: Deep understanding of the FinTech and Payments stack. Ability to evaluate technical product market fit and to engage deeply with founders on product roadmaps.
• Financial Rigor: Mastery of venture-specific financial analysis, including cap table modeling, waterfall analysis, and valuation methods appropriate for multiple stages of investment
• Education: Bachelor's Degree and/or Advanced Degree from a top-tier university preferred
• Network: An established, warm network within the Tier-1 VC ecosystem (General Partners and Principals) to drive proprietary deal flow.

The estimated salary range for this position is $169,100.00 to $ 270,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
