Role Overview
This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of authoritative technical documentation for an Internal Cloud Platform, including its architectures, services, APIs, and operational processes. The role ensures documentation enables safe consumption, operational consistency, and effective onboarding for application and operations teams. The successful candidate will own documentation standards, structure, and lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for internal cloud platform architectures, services, and APIs.
  • Produce architecture guides, service descriptions, operational runbooks, and onboarding materials.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with platform tooling, automation workflows, and release standards.
  • Manage documentation standards, structure, and lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and SREs to capture accurate technical information.
  • Enable effective onboarding for application and operations teams through clear and concise documentation.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 3-5 years of experience producing technical documentation for infrastructure, platforms, or developer-facing services. Experience collaborating directly with engineers, architects, and SREs to capture accurate technical content is required.
Technical Skills: Proven ability to document architectures, APIs, automation workflows, operational runbooks, and onboarding guides. A working knowledge of Linux, cloud infrastructure concepts, virtualization, and DevOps terminology is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Technical Writing or Information Architecture certification.
  • 5-7+ years of experience documenting cloud platforms, PaaS, or internal developer platforms.
  • Familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, VMware, or platform automation concepts.
  • Experience documenting self-service infrastructure or developer experiences.
