We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer supporting one of our premier programs. In this role, you will provide technical leadership, systems design support, and integration and test expertise to Agile software development teams. You will define system functionality by developing use cases, translating customer requirements into capabilities, epics, and features, defining system interfaces, and establishing acceptance criteria while supporting the systems engineering lifecycle.
What You Will Do
  • Support mission thread-level meetings by developing Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), and system interface definitions to refine enterprise capabilities
  • Support enterprise test activities by participating in mission thread test meetings and providing test execution and discrepancy report (DR) verification status
  • Decompose customer requirements into capabilities, features, and user stories using SAFe Agile methodologies
  • Provide technical guidance and clarification throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional subject matter experts to define solutions and document system designs

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience developing system designs, capabilities, and features, including functional descriptions, interface definitions, and acceptance criteria
  • Experience supporting Agile software development as a Systems Engineer, including system design, integration, testing, and verification activities
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) programs, preferably within the data processing domain
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain a Polygraph after start. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience utilizing Agile engineering tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Jama
  • Demonstrated systems engineering knowledge and technical experience supporting the development of large-scale software systems across the full systems engineering lifecycle
  • Experience supporting the full software development lifecycle within an Agile development environment
  • Experience with cloud or hybrid cloud development and deployment environments
  • Experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes and tools, such as Cameo or similar platforms, to capture system design and architecture
  • Experience working as a Systems Engineering team member supporting Agile software development efforts

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
