Position: Tanzu NSX Engineer

Location: Remote 

Duration: 4+ Months Contract

Job Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This is a migration from NSX to Tanzu

  • Experienced person for existing digital solutions platform (website, SOA, docker, Kauffka). Have to have working experience, not just doing POC’s.
  • vSphere Experts
  • TAS & TKGi workstream experience
  • Direct contribution to delivery objectives for Tanzu Phase 2 programs (BHE TAS workload migration to re-architected VxRail infrastructure and operationalization of BHE TKGi foundations to retire DataPower appliances by 12/31/2022)
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing & enablement for BHE resources across the entire platform stack (NSX-T, VCF, PaaS platform implementation, platform automation, etc.)
  • Provide hands-on continuity across all Tanzu Phase 2 program workstreams
  • Provide hands-on continuity for day-2 operations (recovery, maintenance, patching, upgrades, etc.) across the entire platform stack
  • Assist with platform automation implementation
  • Facilitate best-practice adherence across the entire platform stack for implementation & day-2 operations

Knowledge and Skills

Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • modern programming and IT architecture concepts including cloud native design, microservices, containerization
  • cloud model architectures and distributed, high volume computing design
  • designing and deploying applications and architectures for resiliency and continuous availability
  • developing diagnostic and configuration tools to improve deployment and operation of web apps, mobile apps, and 3rd party integrations
  • virtualized infrastructure and Platform as a Service (PaaS)

Technical experience with:

  • Linux and OS tools and monitoring
  • containers and orchestration technologies
  • DevOps via CI/CD, automated configuration, provisioning and deployment tools
  • hands-on experience of relational (Oracle, PL/SQL/Postgres) and no SQL databases (Couchbase)
