Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced VMware Engineer to support the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of VMware-based virtualization environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in VMware infrastructure, virtualization technologies, high availability, and enterprise infrastructure operations while ensuring a secure, stable, and high-performing environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, deploy, and administer VMware environments including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
• Provide operational support, monitoring, and troubleshooting for virtual infrastructure.
• Perform VMware upgrades, patches, and platform migrations.
• Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and infrastructure optimization.
• Configure and maintain HA, DRS, vMotion, and Fault Tolerance features.
• Collaborate with storage, network, security, and server teams.
• Support backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Perform incident response, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
• Provide technical guidance for infrastructure projects and architecture decisions.
• Create and maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of hands-on experience administering VMware environments.
• Strong experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments.
• Experience with enterprise storage technologies (SAN/NAS).
• Understanding of networking concepts including VLANs, NIC Teaming, DNS, and TCP/IP.
• Experience supporting highly available production environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• VMware certifications such as VCP or VCAP.
• Experience with cloud or hybrid cloud environments (Azure VMware Solution, AWS, or similar).
• Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, PowerCLI, or Python.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
• Experience working in large enterprise or regulated environments.
• Experience supporting Retail, Fuel Operations, or Supply Chain environments.
