Job description

Job Title: - Senior Network Engineer

Job Location: - Spring Texas (On-Site)

Job Type: - Long Term Contract

Need Only local – no relocation

Oil & gas experience is preferred

 

Responsibilities:

•        Industrial IT Network Engineers design, deploy, maintain, and optimize the networking components of our virtual WPC environments. Engineers are expected to work onsite to support customers directly—including participating in on-call rotations (12-hour daytime shifts for one week at a time).

•        The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Cisco networking technologies, Layer 2/3 design, firewall administration, industrial networking principles, SolarWinds or similar monitoring platforms, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with customers, operational technology teams, and cybersecurity partners.

Responsibilities

•        Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and remote access technologies, ensuring optimal performance, security, and high availability.

•        Design, configure, and maintain Layer 2/3 network environments, including VLANs, routing protocols (BGP), ACLs, VPN tunnels, and network segmentation strategies used within Industrial IT systems.

•        Provide troubleshooting and operational support for Cisco hardware and industrial networking components within air gapped and secure environments.

•        Perform network monitoring, analysis, and reporting using tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, and SNMP-based telemetry to proactively identify and resolve issues.

•        Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewall policies, intrusion detection/prevention integrations, network access control, and secure configuration baselines in partnership with cybersecurity teams.

•        Collaborate with internal business units, OT stakeholders, and cybersecurity partners to analyze requirements, resolve issues, and implement network solutions that support DEP-hosted applications and industrial assets.

•        Develop and maintain documentation for network diagrams, configurations, standard procedures, IP addressing schemes, and “best practices.”

Qualifications

•        Network configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning across enterprise switches, routers, and firewalls (Cisco or Dell preferred).

•        Industrial networking technologies including Layer 2/3 networking, VLAN segmentation, routing protocols (OSPF/BGP), high-availability, and secure remote-access solutions.

•        Hands-on experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools such as SolarWinds and syslog, with strong documentation abilities.
