Location: Katy, TX(Hybrid on-site work model)

Hiring Mode: 12+ months contract

Job Description:

Client is seeking a mid-level Network Engineer to serve as a fully dedicated resource supporting a large-scale, multi-vendor network environment. These engineers will play a central role in the client's HPC data center fabric, enterprise security infrastructure, distributed WAN, and wireless operations. This is a hands-on, high-visibility engagement requiring strong technical range across data center, security, and WAN technologies, along with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

HPC Data Center Networking (Primary Focus)

  • Deploy and maintain spine-leaf data center fabric across Arista, Juniper, and Cisco platforms, with Arista being the main focus.
  • Configure and troubleshoot BGP EVPN/VXLAN overlays supporting high-performance compute workloads
  • Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and fabric expansion activities

Enterprise Security Infrastructure

  • Support a 29-site Palo Alto NGFW refresh program during a 12-month rollout
  • Perform firewall configuration, policy migration, and cutover activities across distributed sites
  • Coordinate with security teams to validate rule sets and maintain compliance standards throughout the refresh

WAN / SD-WAN

  • Troubleshoot WAN connectivity, routing, and performance issues
  • Support site turn-ups, migrations, and ongoing optimization
  • Wireless Infrastructure
  • Provide support for enterprise wireless environments, including troubleshooting, configuration, and performance monitoring

Monitoring, Automation, and Documentation

  • Support network monitoring and telemetry platforms to maintain visibility and proactive issue detection
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and Ansible to streamline recurring network tasks
  • Maintain accurate IPAM records and network documentation, including topology diagrams and configuration standards

Operations and Support

  • Handle day-to-day operational tasks, including moves, adds, changes, and troubleshooting across the environment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, cloud, and infrastructure groups

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in enterprise network engineering
  • Hands-on experience with Arista, Juniper, and Cisco platforms in a data center environment
  • Working knowledge of BGP, EVPN, and VXLAN in spine-leaf architectures
  • Experience with Palo Alto NGFW configuration and policy management
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies, Aruba EdgeConnect experience preferred
  • Exposure to wireless infrastructure support
  • Scripting and automation experience with Python and Ansible
  • Experience with IPAM tools and network documentation practices
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across both cloud and on-premises environments
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, Palo Alto PCNSE, or Aruba ACSA/ACSP
  • Prior experience supporting large-scale, multi-site security refresh programs
