Job description

Role: Zerto Solution Architect
Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite)
Experience: 12+ Years
Role Summary:
The Zerto Solution Architect will lead the architecture, design, and DR orchestration strategy for Zerto-based replication across VMware and Azure environments. The role is responsible for designing ZVM placement, VRA deployment, VPG topology, journal sizing, and recovery runbooks to support enterprise DR requirements with low RPO targets. The architect will work closely with Azure Architects and Zerto Engineers during build, migration, and DR testing phases.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Zerto architecture, including ZVM placement and VRA deployment.
  • Define VPG topology, journal sizing, retention, and bandwidth policies.
  • Create DR protection strategies, failover/failback runbooks, and recovery plans.
  • Identify workloads suitable for Zerto vs ASR based on business requirements.
  • Prepare architecture/design documents, monitoring dashboards, and alerting strategies.
  • Provide build oversight, troubleshooting support, and performance tuning guidance.
  • Lead DR failover testing and validate RPO/RTO compliance.
  • Coordinate with Zerto/HPE vendors for licensing, sizing, and optimization.

Required Skills:
  • 12+ years of infrastructure and DR architecture experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Zerto implementation and VMware-to-Azure replication.
  • Strong VMware vSphere, ESXi, storage, networking, and Azure knowledge.
  • Expertise in VPG design, journal sizing, bandwidth modeling, and DR orchestration.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and architecture review experience.

Preferred Certifications:
  • Zerto Certified Professional (ZCP) / Zerto Certified Architect
  • VMware VCP-DCV or VCAP-DCV
  • Microsoft AZ-104 / AZ-305
