Position: Senior Systems Administrator

Location: Fort Wayne, IN (Onsite)


Group Dekko — Information Technology


The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the deployment, administration and ongoing maintenance of Group Dekko’s server infrastructure, enterprise network and core business systems. Working under the direction of the IT Director, this role ensures the reliability, security and performance of the environment. As a senior technical resource, the Senior Systems Administrator partners with developers, infrastructure staff and business stakeholders and applies industry standards and best practices to keep systems current, stable and secure.


What You’ll Do:

  • Administer, monitor and optimize the local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) to ensure consistently high availability and performance.
  • Install, configure, administer and maintain Windows Server environments and Active Directory, including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, domain services and identity and access management.
  • Administer and secure the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, licensing and related security and compliance controls.
  • Maintain robust network and endpoint security to protect the company and its digital assets, proactively identifying and remediating vulnerabilities.
  • Support SQL Server, virtualization and endpoint protection platforms, partnering with the team on shared systems.
  • Implement infrastructure upgrades and enhancements in support of IT’s roadmap and surface improvement opportunities that sustain high performance and scalability.
  • Provide senior-level escalation support for user and Help Desk issues, mentoring junior staff and serving as a technical point of reference.
  • Maintain technical proficiency across emerging and existing technologies.
  • Keep management informed of project status by accurately tracking and recording time, adhering to established priorities and communicating progress clearly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
  • Self-directed and collaborative, able to work both independently and within a team while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Advanced understanding of computer systems, server hardware and infrastructure troubleshooting.
  • Expert-level analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving complex issues.


What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum of 6–8 years of progressive, job-related experience in systems and network administration or a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with 4+ years of equivalent experience.
  • Desirable Skills
  • Experience configuring and administering Cisco networking infrastructure — routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs and VLANs.
  • Experience administering IBM i-Series (AS/400) environments.
  • Experience with IBM/HCL Lotus Notes and Domino.
  • Scripting and Automation: Powershell, Python
