Job Description
The Role
We're looking for a Senior Risk Manager to support and contribute to the ongoing design and implementation and day-to-day management of our enterprise risk management framework, with a particular focus on Operational risks, and with Financial risk management as an additional secondary area of focus. This role will provide guidance on risk incidents, audit and self identified issues, control remediation and new product initiatives. We need to make sure we're identifying the right risks and design effective scalable controls, including a comprehensive control monitoring program.
What will you be doing?
  • Supporting the implementation and operation of our enterprise risk framework, with a particular focus on Operational risk as well as helping set up our Financial and Prudential risk frameworks, including embedding of the risk and control self assessment process, risk incident post mortems and issues management.
  • Partnering with 'first line' teams across the business to support the design and launch of new products and features by ensuring that key risks are identified and mitigated prior to launch.
  • Managing and following up on operational risk events and issues that occur.
  • Support first line teams in documenting, solutioning, and prioritising control gaps.
  • Ongoing oversight of issue remediation activities using our risk management tool (Audit Board) to ensure appropriate risk focused prioritisation, and help validate closure of remediated issues.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews, risk assessments and control mapping across our most material risks, and help design scalable control monitoring programs.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of risk policies, procedures, key risk indicators, and risk appetite statements
  • Support and drive the creation of dashboards using data analytics tools to report on key risk indicators in order to help set risk tolerance thresholds and identify actionable insights.
  • Coordinate the quarterly residual risk assessment process across the risk taxonomy, including loss and incident reporting, to inform our regional risk profile for reporting to local and global risk committees, and to our local board.
  • Promoting and helping embed a proactive risk culture, making risk meaningful and relevant to everyone at Wise.
