The Senior Risk Manager will lead and continuously enhance risk management activities across the automotive retail enterprise by leveraging strong insurance expertise alongside advanced, technology-driven processes. This role places a strong emphasis on the use of data analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline risk reporting, improve decision-making, and support enterprise risk management objectives within a complex, multi-location automotive retail environment.
The Senior Risk Manager will serve as a strategic partner to operations, finance, legal, and executive leadership by modernizing risk processes, improving data quality and visibility, and maximizing the effectiveness of Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) and other digital tools.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve technology-enabled risk management processes, including the use of AI, automation, dashboards, and advanced analytics to enhance reporting accuracy, speed, and insight.
  • Own and optimize the department's Risk Management Information System (RMIS), ensuring data integrity, effective integrations, and scalable reporting capabilities across the automotive retail platform.
  • Develop streamlined, standardized risk reporting for executive leadership, utilizing data visualization tools and automated workflows to reduce manual effort and improve clarity.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI and emerging technologies to risk identification, loss trending, claims analytics, and predictive insights.
  • Manage insurance programs, including policy placement, renewals, endorsements, certificates, and claims oversight, with a focus on leveraging data to drive improved outcomes.
  • Analyze loss data, claims performance, and operational risk trends to support proactive risk mitigation strategies specific to automotive retail operations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external brokers, carriers, and vendors to align risk management strategies with business objectives.
  • Support enterprise risk management (ERM) initiatives by integrating operational, financial, and compliance risk data into a cohesive reporting framework.
  • Lead or support special projects related to risk process improvement, system implementations, and digital transformation initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in risk management, insurance, or related disciplines; automotive retail or multi-location retail experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing RMIS platforms, databases, and reporting tools to manage and analyze risk data.
  • Strong aptitude for technology-driven problem solving, including experience with automation, data analytics, dashboards, and AI-supported tools.
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar); experience with SQL or other database tools is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of insurance programs, claims management, and loss control within an operationally complex environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence change.
