The Role
The Industrialization organization within Global Purchasing and Supply Chain (GPSC) at GM is focused on accelerating industrialization initiatives and transforming GM's manufacturing facilities into highly automated, "lights out" smart factories. Delivering this vision requires strong program leadership, disciplined execution, and seamless coordination across multiple functions and organizations.

As a Sr Program Manager, Industrialization, you will be a member of a newly established Program Management Office within the GPSC Industrialization organization, accountable for driving cross-functional alignment and execution of GM's automation and industrialization strategy. This role requires independent judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence change across the organization.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Lead the development and execution of complex program plans/timelines, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and cross functional dependencies.
  • Integrate automation and industrialization opportunities into project roadmaps.
  • Coordinate and communicate sourcing and automation timelines.
  • Build timelines and plans for various sourcing activities tied to the GVDP (Global Vehicle Development Process) and GPDP (Global Propulsion Development Process).
  • Drive internal and cross-functional issue resolution and escalation strategies to remove roadblocks and maintain program momentum and profitability.
  • Build strong working relationships with purchasing managers and a broad set of stakeholders including Manufacturing Planning/Engineering/Operations, Autonomous Robotics Center, Infrastructure & Corporate Citizenship, Legal, Finance.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress, profitability, and drive accountability.
  • Develop templates and reporting mechanisms to communicate program status, risks/issues, and outcomes to senior executives.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively through executive presentations, leadership reviews, team meetings, and one on one discussions with senior leaders.
  • Lead change management activities to support adoption and sustained execution.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in operations, manufacturing,purchasing and supply chain,program/product management, product development, logistics, business,or a related field.
  • Automotive or Manufacturing industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Effectively prioritize and manage multiple initiatives with high quality.
  • Ability to communicate relevant information to the appropriate audience timely and effectively.
  • Demonstrated initiative, independent judgment, and ability to operate autonomously.
  • Develop and maintain constructive, cooperative working relationships.
  • Collaborative mindset, openness to change and constructive feedback with a passion to transform operations.
  • Support or lead additional special projects as assigned by management.
  • Ability to travel 10-15% of the time domestically or internationally.

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Post-graduate education preferred.
  • Program management training or PMP certification.
  • Experience with building dashboards, e.g. PowerBI.
  • Familiarity with global manufacturing practices and automation trends.
