Job description

Senior Leasing Consultant

Summary

The Senior Leasing Consultant is responsible for driving lease activity and maintaining a high level of occupancy in an assigned residential community. A dedication to exceptional customer service and a passion for getting results is a must. This individual responds to rental inquiries by utilizing appropriate sales techniques, marketing plans, and approved marketing material. The Senior Leasing Consultant also provides sales mentorship to other Leasing Consultants at the Company. From time to time, this role may require day trips to other properties to provide assistance and expertise in increasing occupancy.

Job Responsibilities (responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following)

With guidance from the District Manager, set leasing goals and drive activity to reach maximum occupancy

Scout potential lessees and maintain a pipeline of prospects

Greet prospective residents and determine their needs and preferences

Answer incoming calls and handle each one professionally; complete guest card information for all prospects, and follow up as appropriate; enter all guest cards and applicants into the computer system on the same day

Professionally present available apartment homes, communicate features and benefits of the community, and follow-up as appropriate

Maintain an awareness of local market conditions and trends; contribute ideas to the Community Manager for marketing the property and improving resident satisfaction

Maintain a professional and friendly atmosphere in the leasing office and all areas where prospective residents and residents meet; maintain a professional appearance in accordance with dress-code requirements

As time allows, assist with lease paperwork, property reports, and resident communication

Perform other duties as assigned

3-5 years of high-volume leasing experience

Strong customer service, sales and a dedication to meet and exceed customer expectations

Working knowledge of or ability to learn property management software

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Ability to develop a rapport with people

Good written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel

High school diploma or equivalent

Work Environment

The Senior Leasing Consultant works onsite at an apartment community and regularly interfaces with external and internal customers, residents, and vendors. Work hours are typically 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Depending on the property, the Senior Leasing Consultant may work one weekend day as part of their schedule. This individual must be willing to travel to different properties that need increased occupancy.

Reporting Structure

The Senior Leasing Consultant reports to the District Manager and provides mentorship to Leasing Consultants.

Physical Requirements

This employee's physical condition and performance must be sufficient for the consistent and successful completion of the responsibilities and professional standards defined for this position. This position frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and may require lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds. The Senior Leasing Consultant may be required to drive during the course of their day.
