What is luxury leasing?

Luxury leasing refers to the process of renting high-end residential or commercial properties, such as upscale apartments, condos, or office spaces, to clients who are seeking premium amenities and services. Professionals in luxury leasing assist clients with finding, touring, and securing these exclusive properties, often catering to high-net-worth individuals or corporate clients. The role requires excellent customer service skills, in-depth knowledge of luxury real estate markets, and the ability to negotiate favorable lease terms for both property owners and tenants.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a luxury leasing agent?

To thrive as a Luxury Leasing Agent, you need strong sales acumen, detailed knowledge of high-end real estate markets, and typically a real estate license. Familiarity with property management software (like Yardi or AppFolio), CRM systems, and digital marketing tools is essential. Exceptional interpersonal skills, discretion, and the ability to build rapport with affluent clients set top performers apart. These skills ensure effective client relationships, successful lease negotiations, and the delivery of premium service expected in the luxury market.

What are some common challenges faced in luxury leasing, and how can professionals overcome them?

In luxury leasing, professionals often encounter challenges such as meeting high client expectations, managing exclusive property portfolios, and ensuring exceptional customer service. Clients in this market typically have specific requirements and may expect personalized attention throughout the leasing process. Overcoming these challenges involves maintaining strong communication skills, staying up-to-date with market trends, and developing a deep understanding of luxury amenities and lifestyle preferences. Building strong relationships with clients and collaborating closely with property management teams are also essential for success in this role.

Luxury Leasing involves marketing and leasing high-end properties, focusing on client relationships and sales. Property Management covers overseeing multiple properties, handling maintenance, and tenant relations. While both roles require real estate knowledge, Luxury Leasing emphasizes sales skills and luxury market expertise, whereas Property Management centers on operational efficiency and property upkeep.

How much do luxury leasing agents make?

Luxury leasing agents typically earn a base salary ranging from $40,000 to $70,000 annually, with additional commissions or bonuses based on leasing performance. Total compensation can vary depending on location, experience, and the number of properties leased, often making it a commission-driven role within the real estate or property management industry.

Where do luxury leasing agents make the most money?

Luxury leasing agents tend to earn higher commissions and salaries in markets with high-end real estate demand, such as major metropolitan areas with affluent populations. Income can also be increased through experience, strong client networks, and knowledge of luxury property management tools. Earnings vary based on location, client base, and individual performance.

Why is it so hard to get a luxury leasing agent job?

Luxury leasing agent jobs are competitive due to high standards for customer service, sales skills, and industry experience. Employers often seek candidates with strong communication abilities, knowledge of luxury properties, and relevant certifications, making entry more challenging for newcomers.

Elevate Your Leasing Career with LUMA Residential!
LUMA Residential is seeking an experienced, outgoing, polished, and sales-driven Luxury Leasing Consultant to join our team at The Mason, a beautiful apartment community located in McKinney, Texas.
Luxury leasing is more than opening doors and showing apartment homes. It is about creating an experience from the very first interaction. Our Leasing Consultants are often the first impression a future resident has of our community and of LUMA Residential.
We are looking for someone who knows how to connect with people, uncover what they are looking for, showcase the lifestyle our community offers, and confidently turn prospects into residents.
If you love sales, enjoy meeting new people, provide exceptional customer service, and know how important follow-up is to closing the lease, we want to meet you!
What You'll Do
As a Luxury Leasing Consultant at The Mason, you'll be an important part of both the resident experience and the success of the community.
  • Create an Exceptional First Impression: Welcome every prospect and resident with warmth, professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine hospitality.
  • Turn Tours Into Leases: Learn what matters most to each prospect, showcase available apartment homes and community amenities, overcome objections, and confidently ask for the lease.
  • Own Your Follow-Up: Maintain timely and personalized communication with prospects from their initial inquiry through application, move-in, and beyond.
  • Build Resident Relationships: Provide exceptional service to current residents and help create a community where residents feel welcomed and valued.
  • Know Your Product: Become an expert on The Mason, available apartment homes, pricing, amenities, specials, neighborhood conveniences, and competitors.
  • Achieve Leasing Goals: Work alongside your team to meet occupancy, leasing, renewal, and resident retention goals.
  • Maintain Luxury Standards: Help ensure the leasing office, models, amenities, tour route, and community presentation consistently reflect the standards expected of a luxury community.
  • Support Your Team: Communicate, collaborate, and jump in wherever needed to help your community succeed.

Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate understands that successful luxury leasing requires a combination of sales ability, professionalism, personality, organization, and exceptional follow-through.
We're looking for someone who:
  • Has previous apartment leasing experience, with luxury multifamily experience strongly preferred.
  • Has a proven sales and customer service mindset and is comfortable asking for the lease.
  • Is outgoing, confident, professional, and genuinely enjoys connecting with people.
  • Understands the importance of presentation, attention to detail, and exceptional service in a luxury community.
  • Is highly organized and able to manage leads, appointments, applications, follow-up, and resident needs.
  • Is comfortable using technology, property management software, CRM systems, email, and Microsoft Office.
  • Has knowledge of Fair Housing laws and professional leasing practices.
  • Is dependable, positive, solution-oriented, and works well as part of a team.
  • Is available to work Saturdays and a schedule that meets the needs of the community.
  • Has a valid driver's license and active automobile liability insurance.
Compensation
  • Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour
  • Bonus opportunities for additional earning potential
Why Join LUMA Residential?
At LUMA Residential, we know exceptional communities begin with exceptional people. We are committed to creating an environment where team members are supported, recognized, challenged, and given opportunities to grow.
Our benefits include:
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) eligibility after 6 months of employment with immediate 100% vesting once eligible
  • Paid vacation, sick time, company leave, and holidays
  • Employee apartment discount opportunities
  • Paid education and professional development opportunities
  • Employee Assistance Program and additional wellness resources
  • Career growth and advancement opportunities within LUMA Residential
  • A team-focused culture where your ideas and contributions matter
