Job description

Variety Wholesalers is currently seeking an Inventory Analyst for its Henderson, North Carolina location. The Inventory Analyst role is primarily responsible for researching and identifying root causes of inventory loss across both retail stores and distribution centers (DC). The position will report to the Senior Manager, Inventory Control and will work with loss prevention, store operations, supply chain, information technology and other teams throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Investigate inventory variances, shortages, and overages that occur between the DC, individual retail locations and vendors.
• Analyze store physical inventory results and conduct in depth root cause analysis on substantial shrink and overage stores.
• Analyze shrink data on a weekly and monthly basis to identify billing issues, high shrink merchandise departments and trends. Communicate inventory findings to leadership.
• Collaborate with store leadership and DC operations to review inbound and outbound inventory activity and reconcile discrepancies.
• Support cycle counts and annual physical inventories at the stores and DC's
• Compile, analyze and report inventory activity data to various users in the company
• Build and maintain relationships with staff, cross functional teams and vendors
• Maintain current procedures and identify process improvement and cost savings opportunities
• Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures and internal controls
• Assist with special projects as assigned
• Some travel/overnight travel as needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree; preference given to accounting and finance majors
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in retail, manufacturing or logistics
Skills & Abilities:
• Good organization, planning and prioritization skills
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail
• Solid ability to analyze and manipulate data and resolve problems
• Strong computer skills included advanced Excel skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
