Senior Practice Innovation Manager

Cooley is seeking a Senior Practice Innovation Manager to join the Innovation team.

Position summary: As a leading technology law firm, Cooley is determined to become a leader in the digital practice of law. The Practice Innovation Manager is an execution-oriented role that will drive the rollout, adoption, and success of practice-facing technologies, ensuring that lawyers not only have the best tools-but actually use them to deliver exceptional client service. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Position responsibilities:

  • Develop and run a structured, data-driven innovation adoption framework that consistently drives engagement, measurable value, and efficiency across practice groups.
  • Plan, manage, and execute innovation pilots, product launches, and go-to-market rollouts, including communications, collateral creation, success metrics, and user feedback loops
  • Partner closely with legal tech vendors and internal teams to ensure tools are configured for our lawyers and clients' legal workflows
  • Work hand-in-hand with Strategy, Innovation Counsel, and other teams to incubate ideas and scale winning solutions
  • Evangelize new products and features through digital resources, short-form video, demos, office hours, and scalable training experiences.
  • Communicate with lawyers the relevant practice-facing products available to them, and guide them to the most appropriate solution
  • Develop compelling case studies and success stories to articulate ROI and adoption wins, partnering with marketing and communications
  • Serve as direct supervisor and mentor to direct reports
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of direct reports, ensure compliance with assigned work hours and monitor for compliance with all firm and department policies. Manage staffing coverage, review and process time logs/time off requests
  • Support business professionals professional development and continued educational opportunities
  • In collaboration with immediate supervisor and CN HR, participate in hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, termination and other employee lifecycle events
  • All other duties as assigned or required

Skills & experience:

Required:

  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
  • Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
  • 7+ years of directly applicable experience (e.g., legal service, product delivery, change management, customer success, adoption strategy execution)
  • Success driving adoption of legal technology or analogous enterprise tools in a complex environment
  • Advanced knowledge of the workflows and the core needs of practicing lawyers

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Advanced degree in related disciplines
  • Experience with law firm enterprise and practice-specific technologies, including AI products, contract analysis tools, transaction management products and external research databases
  • Supervisory experience

The expected annual pay range for this position with a full-time schedule is $145,000 - $210,000.Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
