Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Innovation Manager - Future Practice.
NYU Langone Health is committed to improving the health of the communities we serve through excellence in clinical care, research, and education. As healthcare rapidly evolves, NYU Langone is investing in new approaches to care delivery that leverage digital technologies, data, and emerging tools such as artificial intelligence to improve outcomes, access, and patient experience. Future Practice serves as NYU Langone's internal innovation lab focused on designing, testing, and evaluating new models of care. Our interdisciplinary team includes clinicians, designers, researchers, engineers, and innovation leaders working together to explore how new technologies and care delivery approaches can improve the patient and clinician experience. Future Practice operates at the intersection of innovation and implementation. We partner closely with clinical departments, operational leaders, and technology teams across the health system to identify opportunities for improvement, develop new concepts, and pilot solutions that can be scaled across NYU Langone.
Role Overview
We are seeking an Innovation Manager to help grow and lead Future Practices portfolio of healthcare innovation initiatives. This individual will lead projects from opportunity identification through concept development, pilot implementation, and evaluation. Projects may involve new models of digitally enabled care, applications of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, or redesign of clinical workflows and patient experiences. The Innovation Manager will work closely with clinical leaders, operational stakeholders, and technology teams across NYU Langone to identify unmet needs, develop innovative solutions, and help translate promising ideas into real-world pilots and scalable programs. The ideal candidate combines creative problem-solving with the ability to drive projects forward in complex healthcare environments. They are comfortable generating new ideas, applying human-centered approaches to problem-solving, and navigating the operational realities of a large academic health system to bring innovations to life.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead innovation projects through all stages of the innovation process, from problem definition through pilot deployment and evaluation.
  • Partner with clinical, operational, and technology stakeholders across the health system to identify opportunities to improve care delivery and patient experience.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to generate insights that inform innovation concepts and solution design.
  • Facilitate ideation and concept development processes that translate insights into tangible solutions.
  • Design and prototype new care models, digital health services, or operational innovations.
  • Develop and present business cases, pilot results, and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Design and oversee pilot programs to evaluate new technologies, care delivery models, or service innovations.
  • Navigate the complexity of a large academic health system, coordinating across departments and teams to move innovation initiatives forward.
  • Scan the healthcare landscape for emerging technologies, digital health solutions, and innovation best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members including clinicians, designers, engineers, and researchers.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
4+ years of experience working as part of a digital product team.
Experience working as part of an agile product development team.
Experience facilitating the digital product development lifecycle (e.g., product vision, feature prioritization, documenting and driving requirements, and product testing, launch, analytics, and maintenance).
Demonstrated practical application of advanced analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to apply judgment within defined parameters.
Experience integrating user and stakeholder feedback to shape products and features.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in healthcare innovation, digital health, product strategy, consulting, service design, or related fields.
Experience leading complex projects from concept through implementation.
Strong ability to translate research and insights into actionable strategies, innovation concepts, and pilot programs.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to diverse audiences including senior leadership.
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams across clinical, operational, and technical domains.
Interest in digital health, AI-enabled care models, and the future of healthcare delivery.
Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field such as healthcare, business, design, engineering, public health, or related disciplines.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
