Description

SUMMARY

Buck Knives is seeking a creative and driven Graphic Designer to join our Marketing and eCommerce team. The Graphic Designer will play a key role in in supporting Buck Knives' marketing efforts by creating on-brand visual content across digital and print channels. This position is responsible for producing and updating a wide range of marketing assets, including packaging, sales collateral, product photography post production edits, website graphics, and social media content, while adhering to established brand guidelines. 


The Graphic Designer will work closely with other Marketing and eCommerce team members. Buck Knives is looking for an individual who will demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, grow, and incorporate guidance from senior team members, while contributing creative ideas and applying constructive feedback to produce high-quality design solutions.


ESSENTIAL/POTENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Update brand material and collateral such as product packaging, product certificates, factory store collateral, social media content, website assets, sales collateral, dealer catalog assets, digital and print projects, and any other projects assigned to them
  • Process and edit product studio photos using Adobe Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, and other programs
  • Support sales marketing needs through the creation of sales presentations, spec sheets, launch sheets and additional selling materials as requested
  • Support the Consumer Sales team and Sales team with timely processing of laser artwork logo needs
  • Build out email marketing campaigns using the established template designed by the Senior Graphic Designer
  • Create website and other digital assets using the established template designed by the Senior Graphic Designer
  • Assists in the creation of social media content
  • Takes on projects assigned to them by Marketing & Communications Manager, Senior Graphic Designer, Ecommerce Manager, and other members of the marketing team
  • Supports Senior Graphic Designer on design and visual projects as needed
  • Use the established Buck Knives brand guide to create on-brand content
  • Apply and execute improvements and edits in their work from critique received by stakeholders and members of the marketing department
  • Understand the differences between print and digital design and apply them to projects
  • Other graphic design, social media, eCommerce, and marketing projects as assigned
  • All of these tasks will be performed under the guidance and direction of the Marketing and Ecommerce team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a graphic design portfolio or examples of your own design work - please include a link to your portfolio or an attachment of your work in the application. Applications without a portfolio or examples of work will not be considered.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suites applications (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom)
  • Must be a team player with a resourceful attitude that is eager to learn from marketing team members, and have a willingness to ask questions when needed
  • Must be detail-oriented - must be great at paying attention to details and be willing to work on projects that contribute to overall marketing success
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced working environment
  • Ability to work independently on assigned work but also able to work well in a group setting; follows directions and can work independently on concepts/ideas from others
  • Communication skills - Strong verbal and written communication - can talk about your process and the direction of your ideas and projects
  • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems promptly; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully
  • A solid foundation of knowledge of layouts, typography, visual hierarchy, photography composition, color, and other graphic design fundamentals
  • Must be able to take critique on projects/work gracefully and apply it
  • Strong organizational abilities and a drive to succeed
  • Reliable - Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position
  • Must be proficient with computers, Microsoft programs, and Adobe programs on a PC 
  • Photography, illustration, or video skills are a plus
  • Passion for the outdoors and knives is a plus
  • Familiarity with Buck Knives products is a plus
  • This role is an in-office, on-site position; no remote options available


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, or related field (visual communications, digital design), or equivalent work experience
