Strategic Insight, Ltd., a privately-owned, small business, is seeking a Graphic Designer to perform a multitude of graphic design tasks both in support of our US Navy clients and corporate needs. The ideal candidate is a high energy, action-oriented self-starter who is willing / able to pitch in to provide products wherever needed. This individual will work primarily at our Crystal City Headquarters office and occasionally in our clients’ work spaces throughout the Arlington/DC area. This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid remote/onsite work schedule.

Mandatory Requirement: Must have a Department of Defense security clearance at the Secret level (preferred) or be able to obtain one.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conceptualize, develop, and maintain all aspects of the company’s and our clients’ brand identity, providing a fresh but consistent look and feel across the strategic communications enterprise structure,
  • Graphic design support across multiple categories and media, including logo design and routine refresh, educational infographics, educational campaign advertising graphics, banners, profiles and visual components, posters, flyers, artwork, certificates, pamphlets, booklets, engravings, and PowerPoint briefings,
  • Work with the team to develop branding and concepts for new programs and events, including outreach and educational materials such as newsletters, fact sheets, and brochures,
  • Plan work that has been assigned; set deadlines; create layouts and designs; directly interface with customer/users,
  • Perform all necessary production work, including cutting, mounting, framing, binding, building-up, gluing, laminating, engraving, and other activities to complete products,
  • Apply the complex principles of artistic design to assignments, often with limited input and/or resources, to effectively stimulate interest and express a point,
  • Work under short deadlines imposed by customer/user/senior-level management,
  • Work effectively with others; work under pressure supervised or independently,
  • Redesign or recreate submissions to best illustrate the concept at hand, and
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ professional relevant experience (preferred, but will consider the right entry-level candidate)
  • Strong experience with the Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office 365 products including SharePoint Online, Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to conceptualize and create a broad range of design materials
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in completing assignments, including a good sense of design, proofreading, grammar, and analytical skills are highly desired
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with others at all levels
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks, handle complex assignments, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts with a strong emphasis in graphic design or related discipline. Relevant experience may be considered as a substitute
