Job description

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
The Part-Time Graphic Designer plays a crucial role in shaping and enhancing the visual identity of DBU. They will be responsible for creating compelling design assets across print and digital platforms, supporting the university's branding standards and guidelines, and contributing to content creation aligned with DBU's mission and messaging. The Part-Time Graphic Designer will collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure consistent branding and a cohesive visual presence are upheld across all DBU-affiliated materials and accounts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Must have an understanding of the mission and goals of Dallas Baptist
  2. Must have demonstrated skills in graphic design including layout, typography, color theory, and visual storytelling across print and digital formats.
  3. Must have demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
  4. Proven experience in graphic design, with a portfolio showcasing a range of creative

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  1. Develop and execute graphic design projects that align with DBU's mission, vision, and values across both print and digital platforms.
  2. Create visually compelling design assets including social media graphics, flyers, brochures, event materials, email headers, and other marketing collateral as needed.
  3. Collaborate with the social media team to produce on-brand visual content tailored to each platform's specifications and audience.
  4. Support the development and maintenance of DBU's visual brand standards, ensuring consistency in typography, color, imagery, and layout across all university materials.
  5. Assist in building and executing design components of content calendars, coordinating deliverables around campaigns, events, and key university dates.
  6. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing workload to meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
  7. Work directly with the project contact throughout the design process, maintaining clear communication and actively collaborating during the proofing and revision stages to ensure the final product meets project expectations and requirements.
  8. Receive and incorporate feedback from stakeholders, revising designs as needed to meet project goals and brand guidelines.
  9. Maintain an organized library of design files, templates, and brand assets for use across the communications and marketing team.
  10. Stay current with design trends, tools, and best practices to ensure DBU's visual presence remains fresh, professional, and effective.
  11. Work closely with approved content creators, account managers, and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent and cohesive visual identity across all DBU-affiliated materials.
